The Field Knows What You've Forgotten

I'm looking up at Longs Peak this week. At 14,000 feet, it should be buried in snow. It's bare, and that could spell trouble for us this summer.

My sharecropper Todd isn't worried. He's diversified, multiple fields, different crops, backup systems. He built resilience by refusing to put everything in one basket.

So many executives I see have done the opposite.

They put everything into the business. Their attention. Their identity. Their nervous system.

Now, even as the business thrives, they feel like they're running dry.

Not burned out. Not failing. Just disconnected.

Like the mountain without snow. Still standing. Still impressive. But missing something essential.

That's sovereignty loss.

So here's my question:

What part of yourself did you trade away to build what you built?

Send me a message and tell me. I will respond.

Best,
Steve
